Movie Buzz 1

Hey Everyone, welcome to my first movie buzz, where I will hope to keep you guys posted on the new movies, and other movie news that is coming up, this week there is Spider-Man 4, New Moon (sigh), Scary Movies, and more. AND LINKS FOR THE SOURCES AND TRAILERS ARE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BUZZ, HAVE FUN!

First off, some people caught up with Sam Raimi and said : "Hey, what're you gonna do with Spider-Man 4?" And he was saying : You know what? I really understand the criticism about there being too many villains in Spider-Man 3, and when I go to Spider-Man 4, I want to go back to the basics."...... I don't know what that neccesarily means, but if that means having the villain Kill Himself at the end of the movie, Yeah go "Back to Basics" Great F*cking Idea.

There were some rumours that Vin Diesel backed out of doing Triple X (XxX) but he has..... That is a FALSE rumour, and he is returning for the 3rd installment.

The trailer just got released for the upcoming movie called : The Last Day of Summer, about this guy who works at this like restaurant place, and he's really pissed, and he's kind of lonely so people are always making fun of him. Then he goes a little Ape SH*T crazy, and he has a gun and takes some girl hostage but then it turns out to be a kinda a funny movie? That guy, from The New Guy is in it, I forget what his name is, that really nerdy looking guy, who plays a really nerdy guy in this movie. So Check it out.

A trailer got released for the upcoming UK film called : The Bunny and The Bull, about these 2 guys who kinda go on this like, European, like, Road-Trip type of thing, but they're on a train and they do funny European things. But also, this movie is like filmed very oddly but cool in the sense, with kinda some weird transitions, and kinda some artsy-fartsy type of stuff, so if you wanna see The Bull and..... what's the movie called? oh yeah, The Bunny and The Bull, Check It Out.

It has been announced that the new Avatar trailer will be released this Friday in theaters. So if you weren't too impressed by the first release of the avatar trailer, apparently this is the one to win you over, so go to the movies this weekend, and see the Avatar new trailer.... wooooh!!

A new clip has just been released of the behind-the-scenes look at "2012" about how they made L.A..... become apart, and explode, and the crashing and stuff, so if you wanna see the CGI special effects, of how they made LA go to Sh*t, Check it Out.

Another trailer just got released called : The Spy Next Door about Jackie Chan, who has been an ex-spy now, he's baby-sitting kids. hmmm.... It's kinda like The Pacifier, of how Vin Diesel went from being a bad-ass into being a baby-sitter, well now Jackie Chan has, you know, hopped on that band wagon. AND THE TERRIBLE THING IS, I'm watching the trailer going "Oh God, Jackie Chan, why? This movie looks so Sh*t." And then the Icing, with the Cherry on Top, of this Sh*t storm of a movie ... BILLY RAY CYRUS F*cking shows up and goes *in country voice* Aww, I'm Billy Ray Cyrus, I'm in this movie now to. So, now you've got Jackie Chan being the baby-sitter slash secret spy, and then you have BILLY RAY CYRUS! THERE'S NO REASON FOR HIM TO BE IN THIS MOVIE! I MEAN IT'S NOT EVEN LIKE MILEY CYRUS IS IN IT! SHE'S NOT EVEN IN IT! SO WHY HAVE BILLY RAY CYRUS? What is- why- WHY IS HE IN THIS MOVIE? WHY IS HE IN ANY MOVIE? Wh-? WHO F*cking thought of THAT idea?

It seems as though the scary movie movies are gonna get a reboot in a sense, which I know doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, because the movies are based on a contemporary horror films. Well, this is their plan to rebooting the scary movie franchise, they're gonna dub Anna Ferris (dunno how to spell) They're gonna dub, The Wayans Brothers, and they're gonan have a whole new cast, a whole new writers, and a whole new, kind of, look to this. So expect, future parody, scary movie stuff, with a whole new crew and writers, and uhhh...... who knows if this is gonna work?

College Humor has a hilarious look, at the Pixar "lamp" and how he always crushes the "I" in the beginning titles, of the pixar thing, and now this is the kind of way to show you that, What If this "I" was actually killed in the reprecussions of the lamp, and now have to go to jail. Many people are very pissed about, that movie because like, "oh there's no character development" and "It's all about explosions" "There's no, you know, character driven stuff." and stuff, ........ *SIGH* The movie, is about Cars, turning into F*cking Robots, Don't think too much into it. Just enjoy a blockbuster, summer movie about Explosions and Megan Fox, DON'T THINK TOO MUCH INTO IT! They are robots fighting each other, *sigh* Get over yourselves.


REVIEW

Alrite, so recently, I saw "Where the Wild Things Are" and here's my little Review on it. *sigh* Let's just say, it's very hard turning a 10 page book into an hour and a half (1.5h) movie. Visually, and like how the Wild Thing character was created, was stunning, and very beautiful looking film, great cinematography and cool little things. But it just felt like it was missing some BIG story elements, you know, things we're like not really all there.
Here's a little bit of a spoiler, so like here's my little warning:

At the end of the film, Max is trying to get The Wild Things to like, work together, and The Wild Things are like, kind of emotional and like drama problems and they're kind of like not really that happy where they are and Max, tries to help them out, and then they're like "Oh, you can't really help us so, get the F*ck outta here." So Max is like, "OK BYE!" and he just kind of like leaves, so it's like "REALLY?!?!?!" This is his Imagination, you can't even like imaginate, like them being happier? So he's pretty much like "Yeah, I failed here, Peace" Like I wanted him to like accomplish something, So it's like "I went here, and I Accomplished Nothing" and then went home... So I thought that was kind of like a dissapointment on where the wild things are, so that's what my thoughts were about that.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Today's question of the day, with the theme of parody movies and the new Scary Movies coming out; What movie would you like to see have a parody of itself, or if you have an idea for a parody of a film give me a quick brief description of it in the comments section.

For me it would be any movie that Sam Raimi Makes, like Spider-Man or Drag me to hell, could be parodied all over.

Guild Advancement

Guild advancement in Cataclysm

A reader asked me on my opinion on the announced guild advancement system in Cataclysm. By taking an inherently social entity, and adding rewards to it, guild advancement is potentially a very powerful tool of social engineering. Now some people have jumped to conclusions, and already dismissed it as clone of the suboptimal guild advancement systems that other games already have. But we simply don't know whether that is true yet, and one thing that Blizzard is famous for is stealing the badly executed ideas of others and unleashing their potential, thereby making their version much better than the original.

I recently read a book about management, which proclaimed as golden rule of managing people that "you get what you reward". I was laughing, because that sounded exactly like me talking about social engineering in game design. You get what you reward, and that does apply to guild advancement systems as well. Where previous systems frequently failed was that guild advancement systems more or less automatically rewarded pretty much everyone, as long as he was in a guild. That is still a possibility for the WoW system, but it would be a wasted chance. If three months after release both Ensidia and that pickup guild inviting random strangers both have the same level of guild advancement, then this system will simply fail to do anything. If your actions don't matter, and everybody gets rewarded the same way anyway, there is no effect of guild advancement on behavior. You get what you reward, and if you reward just being in a guild, you get people just being in a guild.

If done right, a guild advancement system can reward two desirable modes of behavior: Collaboration, and loyalty. But the way to there is strewn with pitfalls. For example it is far too easy to design a system where the guild advancement depends on a fixed number of points, and every action of a guild member adds to those points; with the inevitable result that larger guilds have an advantage over smaller guilds. You get what you reward, and in that case you'd get more large guilds, destroying many smaller ones. Another big pitfall is getting the encouragement of loyalty right: You want to reward people for working out difficulties with their guild, and sticking with their friends, instead of guild hopping. But you also don't want to punish them too harshly if ultimately things don't work out, somebody leaves, or gets kicked out, or a guild breaks up completely. Thus deciding what guild advantages a player loses when quitting a guild and joining a different one, and how fast he regains those advantages, is tricky. Too slow, and you lock people into guilds well beyond the point where the guild is still fun; too fast, and you end up encouraging guild hopping to the guild with the higher level of advancement.

So until I've seen the system in detail, and know all the parameters, I simply can't say whether the guild advancement system in Cataclysm will be good, neutral, or bad. Social engineering is a difficult science, and easy to get wrong.

Sudden Craving for Games

So i had a sudden Craving for games, so i've decided to do a couple of articles on the current news, or a bit outdated probably =P

Twilight guy hit by a taxi

lol, i know it happened some time ago, but it was so hilarious i couldn't stop laughing, sorry people who like him =P

In scenes reminiscent of the early days of the Beatles, scores of screaming female fans mobbed the Twilight star Robert Pattinson as he tried to film a new movie on the streets of New York.

The mayhem resulted in the British actor feeling the full force of his burgeoning worldwide celebrity when he was apparently hit by a taxi while trying to run across a road to escape.

The celebrity website radaronline.com reported witnessing Pattinson, 23, being clipped by one of New York’s famous yellow cabs as he tried to escape the women who were jostling to get an autograph or take photos of him on their phones. One managed to wrap her arms around the star.

The site reported that the taxi appeared to hit Pattinson on the hip, and the driver slammed his brakes on. Despite being a little stunned by the incident, the actor seemed to walk away unharmed, it said.

Three bodyguards continued to try to fend off the hysterical teenagers as the heartthrob walked around the block to production offices from the Manhattan location of a scene that he was shooting for the forthcoming romance Remember Me.

In conclusion, yes rule number 13, here's a little advice. Don't care, because not caring and losing something is less painful then caring then losing something. And even you know, in your sick and twisted mind, it makes sense in a sick and disgusting way.

Warcraft Movie

zomg zomg a WoW movie *snort, snort*

No, you stoopid groupie fuck, its a warcraft movie, not a WoW movie, but a Warcraft movie

Yupp, it's gonna be awesome, and i'm not saying that only cause i've been addict to this since the company that made Warcraft, Starcraft Diablo and such, name was Silicon & Synapse, to Chaos Studios to eventually what is now Blizzard Entertainment, boy did i have fun playing all their games.

Yupp, the movie is going to be produced by the recently failed Spider-man 3 director (compared to the other ones) Sam Raimi, this is a quote from him "i learn from my mistakes, after directing Spider-man 2, 3 and drag me to hell, i know how to make Spider-man 4 now" oh yea, spider-man 4 is coming, who didnt see that one coming.

Anyway, in 2007 there was a rumor which eventually became leaked as true, that there was a WoW movie coming, which eventually turned out to be Warcraft movie instead. "The Warcraft Movie". in 2008 they started production, and with over $100m, it is supposed to be coming out sometimes this 2009....

This movie is supposed to feature a brand new "badass" hero, which, I.M.O, will suck ass, as this will probably contain a brand new story. But, as the interviewed said, they want to make this one a success before worrying about future projects. Well there you have it, there are going to be more than one, who didnt see that one coming.

So, where will the Warcraft movie take us, in the evolution of movies? There are so many Stories to tell, in the World of Warcraft (not refferencing to the game), from the Rise of the Death Knight ARTHAS, to The Great Adventure of THRALL, to the War Between the NE and the BE (Night Elves, and Blood Elves, omg, i'm such a geek). I hope he will not let us down, otherwise we will kick his ass, and we won't come to his spider-man movies.... =P
